I will hold nothing back

Worship is not just the songs I sing; it is my lifestyle. It will be passionate. It will be driven. It will demand an explanation. I will be open; I will be vulnerable. I will stay broken and humble at the feet of Jesus. I will live with such intensity that I must continually seek God's presence so I don't burn out. I will seek God first in everything. I will be filled so I can pour myself out over and over. I will desire nothing but to sit at the feet of Jesus and cry, "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come." I will live for the glory of my Savior.

Oh, please!

This is what we woke up to this morning: SNOW! Carl was out for quite a while shoveling, but he'll be out again tomorrow, because it snowed all day. This is not the greatest thing, because although the weather is somewhat cooler, the snow is very wet, and it makes sandbagging rather hazardous.

This afternoon we got a bit of a scare as Dad called from work (he had only been there for an hour or two) saying that the mayor of Fargo would be sending out an announcement saying to clear out your basements wherever you are, because some of south Fargo was flooded. We instantly jumped into action. We had most of the stuff out of the basement, but there was still plenty to do. So, for the next two or three hours, we brought up an old computer, the TV and all of its appliances, lots of important stuff from Dad's office, food (meat and bread in particular) from the freezer, and tons of other stuff.

Now they're back to saying that the crest will happen on Saturday. We'll see.

By the way, who has time for school? We're too busy learning how to give and take orders and how we need to act under pressure; how to stay calm and work efficiently when it's easy to panic; how to stack and store all our food and the "things" that have to be saved; how to ready our house for a flood; and how to be ready to leave at a moment's notice. We're too busy learning how to live and how to help and serve our community; and we're much too busy learning how to trust God with our lives and our possessions (which aren't really ours, anyway); who has time for bookwork?
