I will hold nothing back

Worship is not just the songs I sing; it is my lifestyle. It will be passionate. It will be driven. It will demand an explanation. I will be open; I will be vulnerable. I will stay broken and humble at the feet of Jesus. I will live with such intensity that I must continually seek God's presence so I don't burn out. I will seek God first in everything. I will be filled so I can pour myself out over and over. I will desire nothing but to sit at the feet of Jesus and cry, "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come." I will live for the glory of my Savior.

Flood Preparation

Well, while we were off having fun at the ND Homeschool Convention, Fargo, Grand Forks, and surrounding areas were beginning the long and strenuous work of preparing for the upcoming flood. Sandbaggers are working around the clock to get the needed (approximately) 3 million sandbags filled and in place. The levees are going up all over the place, and are much bigger than in '97. Originally, the Red River was supposed to crest this coming Saturday at around 40 feet. Now they're saying it could crest as soon as Thursday, at up to 41 or 42 feet.
So, in our own preparation, we have brought up anything and everything of value from the basement, most of which is in our living room, as evident in the pictures below. We moved bookshelves and Carl's fish tank, and set up a table for our computer and such. As you can see, we won't be able to use our living room for a while. We've also been stocking up on food, and have our bags packed in case we have to evacuate. It's been raining here for a while, and the weather service is predicting rain for the next few days, including torrential downpours in certain areas, which could create huge problems.
So PLEASE be praying:
That the river won't flood as badly as they're predicting
That the rain stops, and for colder weather to set in (which would slow the flow of water)
That the levees and sandbag walls hold fast and don't break or leak
That God would keep everyone safe, especially while they're working on sandbagging
That He would protect our house from water damage, and that He would watch over our house if we have to evacuate
And anything else you can think of!

(The extra door in the picture is the door to the basement. We had to take it off the hinges to get filing cabinets and such upstairs.)

Andrea, this certainly brings back memories of 1997. We are praying for your family and house. I know it's no fun, and rather scary. Please keep us informed as you can.
