I'll try to post a full update fairly soon, but in the meantime, I have some steam to blow off. Be thankful you can't see me right now, 'cause there are probably flames shooting out of my eyes.
I guess I'll start by saying that I have been super frustrated with my English class from day one. During the class time, do you think we spend most of the time writing or learning proper writing form or anything like that? No, we spend it writing down "how we FEEL" about whatever the topic is. It's like being in a stinkin' counseling session. Or we'll spend half the time "brainstorming," which really means that the kids toss out ideas for whatever the instructor wants us to think about, and then she says "yeah, that's good." I'm sorry (okay, maybe not), but isn't the instructor supposed to be the one TEACHING????? (On this note, I'll point out that my instructor and my textbook use absolutely horrible grammar all the time.)
Another thing that's frustrating for me is the kind of GARBAGE they're forcing down my throat. I've posted about it before, but it's the absolute worst in English. We have to read articles that are totally pro-homosexual, feminist, relativist, and the like. Okay, I should clarify something here. It's not the fact that we have to read this stuff that gets me upset. It's the fact that homosexuals can write papers totally bashing Christians and the Bible, but if I so much as said one little thing that even hinted against homosexuality, I'd literally be kicked out of the university because of a "hate crime." I'm all for free speech, BUT IT HAS TO GO BOTH WAYS OR IT'S NOT FREE SPEECH!!!! Like I said, I've known this to be the case for a long time, but it doesn't make it any less annoying.
The thing that's got me ticked tonight, though, is something I read in my textbook. It's talking about reasons to be suspicious of sources, and this is what it said:
"Either/or choices . . . Be deeply suspicious whenever you encounter some version of the 'either . . . or' collocation. Writers writing about issues as being black-and-white will typically present one side as completely wrong."
As if it's a bad thing.
DUH!!!!! WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! MURDER IS ALWAYS WRONG; COMMUNISM IS ALWAYS WRONG; STEALING IS ALWAYS WRONG; WRONG IS WRONG NO MATTER WHAT!!! Just because someone said truth is relative doesn't mean they're right. If they are right in saying that truth is relative, then that statement is relative and not always true in every situation. And we could go 'round and 'round with that argument. My point is that some things are just wrong, no matter what your opinion is.
Anyway, that's all for now. Hope I didn't get anyone too riled up. :)

I will hold nothing back
Worship is not just the songs I sing; it is my lifestyle. It will be passionate. It will be driven. It will demand an explanation. I will be open; I will be vulnerable. I will stay broken and humble at the feet of Jesus. I will live with such intensity that I must continually seek God's presence so I don't burn out. I will seek God first in everything. I will be filled so I can pour myself out over and over. I will desire nothing but to sit at the feet of Jesus and cry, "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come." I will live for the glory of my Savior.

Let's see... You were homeschooled so we could make sure you wouldn't be able to think for yourself, right? Keep fighting and remember, God is greater than all of this, and He is GOOD all the time!! Love ya!
And you're paying for that? :-) Sorry, just had to throw that in. Back when we lived across the street from NDSU we had Ben Stegman come over every Wednesday evening for dinner, and he told us the exact same story. Chances are it's still the same teacher, too.
But on an encouraging note, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might! The name of the Lord is a strong tower, and the righteous runneth into it and is safe.
